I finally managed to dye some wool & like a good girl (well a good girl who needs fiber funds, anyway) I put almost all of it in the etsy shop (www.micamynx.etsy.com) There is some superwash merino:

Larceny- superwash merino

There was some merino/cashmere, but it got scooped up already.  Still some Rambouillet:

Rambouillet-Prosecutor

and some 80% merino/20% silk:

Merino/Silk- "Not Guilty"

On the spinning front- I just finished this gorgeous AllSpunUp merino/silk for my friend Kim:

I started knitting the adorable Wurm hat this weekend. I claimed the yarn in a swap. The luxurious 50/50 Alpaca Merino from Plucky Knitter in the colorway “Ilsa Lund”:

Yummy yarn

I followed some modifications suggested by another Raveler and made this:

Me wearing the Wurm!

I have also been a little busy dyeing fiber

Fiber drying on my poor topless gazebo

That is a photo of a pound of Finn (love Finn, can’t wait to spin it!) and 3/4 a pound of Rambouillet (my dyeing nemesis-it just makes everything rather pastel-like).  It dried today and it now looks like this:

Braids of Finn & Rambouillet

Most of it will go up in the etsy shop (www.micamynx.etsy.com) soon. I have lots more to dye too!

I also managed to finish some spinning. This is the superfine merino from BeeMiceElf in the November 2009 club colorway-“Traditions”. BeeMiceElf fibers are always amazing to spin and the colors are gorgeous. This one is no exception.

364 yards, 2 ply, DK weight

Oh and did I mention that I named all the newly dyed fiber after criminal law terms? Victim and Trespass are already sold before I even got them in the shop! Maybe crime does pay!

Last, but not least, I finally got this nommy braid of merino/cashmere/silk from Limegreenjelly (www.limegreenjelly.etsy.com) onto the wheel

A beautiful heap of fiber

As can be expected, it is spinning up beautifully! I must acquire more!

So soft!

But I am blogging. Heh.

Things have been a bit hectic, we were in Asheville NC last weekend for a legal seminar and kids are shuffling for spring break.  My Mother in law arrives today which brought about a flurry of spring cleaning.

In the meantime, I am still slogging away on the baby blanket Girasole. I love, love, love the pattern & the gorgeous JulieSpins merino I have spun up to knit with.  Unfortunately, I ran out of yarn-yep-I actually started knitting before I finished spinning. Huge mistake.  But more fiber is jetting towards me as I write this, so all works out in the end. Even for schmucks like  me who do silly things. I would post some in-progress photos but it is a circular blanket & it just looks weird on the needles.

I did so many laceweight yarns that I was jonesing for some fat smooshy spinning.  So I finished these two over the weekend:

FreckleFace Fibers Merino in Mountaintop-150 yards

Rambouillet dyed by me "Dusky Pansies" 200 yards fat worsted

I also cast on for a little short-sleeved cardigan from the new Knitty using the JulieSpins Autumn Glory BFL I spun up for Ravelmpics.  It is color progression yarn & I started the yoke with the lighter skein. Now that I am knitting it I think I probably should have started with the darker skeins then fade to lighter towards the waist, but eh…who knows. Progress pics on that soon.

I started spinning the March Funky Carolina fiber last night. It is merino/bamboo/silk and it is quite luscious. I am thinking a plied laceweight.

A before picture of the merino/bamboo/silk yumminess!

My oldest daughter, Kacy, helped me do a little dyeing the other day.  Here are the results:

Targhee- "Plushie"

Targhee-"Supernova"

Targhee-"Timid"

Rambouillet-"Dead pansies"
